On July 6th, InterContinental Nha Trang will be hosting the next Visit Nha Trang blood donation day. This quarterly event has been going on for 4 years now, being organized by Visit Nha Trang (Nha Trang Destination Marketing Organization), in conjunction with the Red Cross Vietnam. The last event was held at Novotel Nha Trang and 236 units of blood were collected.
Alongside this, we will have a separate room at Intercontinental Nha Trang where Khanh Hoa General Hospital will be present. They are hoping to be able to put together a list of donors to be used in emergency situations of people who live in Nha Trang and are RhD negative.
Being a tourist town, this can be crucial to someone’s survival. Less than 1% of people of Asian ethnicity possess negative blood whereas 20% of Caucasian ethnicity are of a negative blood type. It is great that the hospital are being so forward thinking and we would like to support them as much as possible. You never know it might be you, one of your friends or one of your guests that need the blood.
Please share the information about the blood drive and help to spread the word amongst long-term Caucasian ethnicity residents about coming along to get tested and added to an emergency list.
