Directives issued to improve the tourism experience in Nha Trang

In an effort to improve the tourism experience for visitors to Nha Trang, The Nha Trang People’s Committee have issued a list of strict directives to strengthen State management of the industry, and to make tourists feel more at ease in the city.

Firstly, they have opened consultation with the City Police Department to set up a  CCTV camera system along the Tran Phu Stree, while providing more human resources from the traffic police to reduce traffic jams, issue tickets to unlawful driving practices, and crack down on unsolicited taxi and tour selling services.

In 2015, Nha Trang welcomed 3.8 million tourists, of which  939,000 were listed as foreign visitors, providing tourism revenue of VND4,686 billion, a 15% increase 2014. The city expects to receive 4.1 million tourists in 2016.

In addition, the Department of Culture and Information is to take responsibility for guiding, supervising, inspecting and penalizing violations in tourism operation . Travel firms who perform aggressive solicitation towards tourists will be targeted as a priority.

The Bureau of Urban Management will strictly punish pavement encroachment , especially on roads near Tran Phu Street. People’s Committee has also requested all forces to end peddling, begging and soliciting, citing recent success in Danang, where this has problem has been drastically reduced.
